AUM
AUM is a translational study of food and eating disorders. Food, through an iconographic representation, loses its organic nature and is mostly characterized by inorganic features. In AUM, food is no longer meant to nourish. Instead, it takes on an emotional and psychological dimension through changes in colors, materials and shapes. The food itself becomes the main character of the representation, almost completely replacing the individual's mind. The motifs, the words, the associations are repeated as a superstitious ritual, in the same way that the compulsive dynamic operates in disorders such as body dysmorphia. The innumerable psychosomatic implications of eating disorders go hand in hand with the constant bombardment of the food industry, which offers us fast food one day, healthy food the next.
